Alenia Aermacchi (a subsidiary of Finmeccanica) has won a contract worth $ 140 million by Elbit Systems to provide logistical support 30 training aircraft M-346I ordered in July 2012 by the Israeli Ministry of Defense
Logistics services, including supply, maintenance and overhaul of spare parts for 30 M-346 aircraft will be carried out jointly with Elbit Systems.
30 aircraft ordered by Israel will replace the old A-4 Skyhawk still in service in the Israeli Air Force. The first delivery is scheduled for mid 2014. The M-346 can also be operated as a fighter.
End of 2009, the Italian Air Force signed a contract for the first batch of six M-346 systems including ground-based training (GBTS). The first two M-346 were delivered in early 2012.
End of September 2010, Singapore has signed the first international contract for 12 M-346 systems and ground-based training. Alenia Aermacchi has also completed contracts in June 2011 with ST Aerospace to
provide logistical support to the fleet of the RSAF (Republic of Singapore Air Force) M-346.
