ACE Group subsidiary Gorgé to 53.48%, has won another success in robotics Earth Defense for the sale of 20 robots COBRA MK2 with the Canadian Army with an option to purchase 60 additional robots.
This is another significant order for the group, which follows an initial contract for 29 robots COBRA MK2 won in December 2011 from the Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) in France.
These robots will perform reconnaissance missions, neutralization, removal and destruction of explosive devices and ammunition for the Canadian Armed Forces.
The robot is certified COBRA MK2 'combat proven' (having been in actual use on theaters of operations) and will be equipped with a support module cannon to neutralize parcel bombs and a module load release.
The first deliveries are expected in summer 2013.
