U.S. troops arrive in Turkey to operate the Patriot missile

U.S. troops began arriving in Turkey, a NATO ally to deal with Patriot missiles deployed by the international organization in this country at the request of the Turkish government to protect the country against possible Syrian warheads.

The United States, Germany and the Netherlands will deploy two batteries each of the Patriot defense system, U.S. construction, to strengthen the air defense of Turkey against spillage of civil war in Syria began ago 22 months. In this conflict, Ankara supports the Syrian opposition and the rebels and provides shelter for Syrian refugees.


NATO had approved the request of Turkey for the Patriots, November 30, after several Syrian shells have fallen on Turkish territory.
