Firms team for Paladin drive assemblies


Two U.S. companies are working on the U.S. Army's Planned expansion of icts Paladin self-propelled howitzer ammunition supply and fleet vehicles.

Loc Performance Products Inc.. BAE Systems and will design, manufacture and test prototype final drive assemblies for the Army's Paladin Integrated Management program M109A6/M992A2.

"The structure Provides maximum contract value by leveraging expertise in manufacturing Loc's assembling and final drives with BAE's expertise in system engineering design and analysis," Said Chad Darr, director of Product Development at Loc. "It offers a smooth transition the program into low-rate initial production by manufacturing prototypes Utilizing the developmental processes producing intent."

Nearly 600 Loc Said final drive assembly to vehicle sets are expected be produced under the Paladin Integrated Management program.
