The Norwegian Ministry of Defence closed in early January, the international tender in the framework of new logistics building of the navy. Launched in 2009, this project will enable Norway to have, in 2016, a supply unit, but also projection and freight vehicles. Early studies suggest a vessel of 155 meters long and over 15,000 tons. According to the Spanish newspaper La Voz de Galicia, citing sources in the Norwegian Navy, six manufacturers are competing at the end of the tender. It would be the Norwegian Bergen, Spanish Navantia, the French DCNS, Fincantieri of Italy and South Korean DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering) and Hyundai Heavy Industries.
